About the workshop with fitogram

In the workshop with fitogram you will learn to build and structure React.js applications for the web. We’ll guide you through the initial setup of a React.js project and will explore several local state management technologies including Redux and MobX. You will learn these skills by building a prototype in a collaborative setting.

What you will get from the workshop:

• An overview of Flux architecture
• Know how to implement state management with Redux and MobX
• Setup your project with webpack
• Be able to integrate external components
• Get exposure to techniques for styling the application

What skills are required: Intermediate to advanced

• HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Intermediate to Advanced)
• NodeJS and npm (Basic)
• Git (Basic to Intermediate)

We recommend to have at least previous knowledge of Javascript. Also don’t forget to bring your laptop running with the capability to run all of the above!

We run two parallel workshops tracks in Cologne. Besides React.js we will have a backend track and deep dive into REST API´s. This is a unique opportunity for frontend and backend developers to interact and to create genuine outcomes.

For this workshop we partner with fitogram. The Cologne based startup develops tech solutions to bring sport & fitness into the digital age. Their core product fitogramPRO is a cloud based software for fitness & sport providers that takes care of all the “administrative” tasks like customer management, online booking, payments, accounting, so that the providers can focus on what they love to do: motivating people for a healthy and active lifestyle.

With www.fitogram.de they developed the largest fitness directory in DACH with more than 8,000 listings (ranging from classic gym workout, swimming, yoga, to team sports and lots more). User can find their favorite sport activities and useful content for a healthy lifestyle within a few clicks.
