Evangelical Bank

ESG sustainability scoring to incentivize CO2 reduction

About the Project

Evangelical Bank, a leading sustainable banking provider, wanted to help their clients measure and improve their environmental impact. Rather than just requesting ESG data for credit processes, they wanted to provide a tool that helps businesses gain sustainability insights themselves.

N3XTCODER was enlisted to take their internal prototype and build a production-ready platform that aligns businesses with the Paris 1.5°C climate target.

Our Services

  • Agile Platform Development
  • Technical Architecture
  • User Research & Feedback
  • Dashboard Development
  • Kubernetes Infrastructure
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery

The Challenge

Evangelical Bank needed:

  • A tool to help clients measure and track their sustainability
  • Support for CO2 equivalence and XDC (X-Degree Compatibility) metrics
  • Ability to aggregate data from multiple sub-organizations
  • Bank-compliant security and infrastructure
  • Integration with existing credit processes

The Solution

We built the EB Sustainability Scoring platform: a database and dashboard for monitoring and reporting on sustainability of assets, buildings, and businesses.

Key features:

  • CO2 Equivalence - Track and report carbon footprint
  • XDC Metrics - Align with the Paris 1.5°C climate target
  • Multi-organization Aggregation - Combine reports from sub-organizations
  • Ad-hoc Demo Environments - Allow clients to test features on their own time

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, FastAPI
  • Frontend: Vue.js, TypeScript
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions/CI
  • Database: PostgreSQL

What I really appreciate about N3XTCODER is that they are always open minded, adjust to new situations, and are goal oriented. If we come up with new ideas, they are always open to adapt. Everything we throw at them, they find solutions.

How We Worked

We used Agile methodology with standard sprint and milestone cycles. Starting with a core backlog (must have) and potential features (could have), we could integrate new priorities without contract limitations.

For user feedback, we provided ad-hoc demo environments with preliminary features, allowing potential customers to interact with proposed functionality on their own time rather than relying on live demos.

The Outcome

The EB Sustainability Scoring platform is now in production:

  • Strategic ESG Partnership - Evangelical Bank positioned as a sustainability partner, not just a lender
  • Client Self-Service - Businesses can independently measure and track their sustainability
  • Climate Alignment - XDC metrics help clients align with Paris Agreement goals
  • Scalable Architecture - Built to handle growing client base and data volumes
  • Bank-Compliant Security - Deployed on Kubernetes with enterprise-grade infrastructure
