About AI Muse Re:dux
Experience a hands-on demonstration of Lipski’s process with the AI Muse. Berlin based painter Roman Lipski is a pioneer in the field of quantum art. He is also known for his AI Muse, an algorithm-based AI entity created in collaboration with AI agency Birds on Mars, that allowed him to freely experiment with the expressive possibilities of painting.

Revisiting artist Roman Lipski’s AI Muse.
Berlin based painter Roman Lipski is a pioneer in the field of quantum art thanks to his collaboration with quantum research scientists Dr. James Wootton and Marcel Pfaffhauser. He is also known for his AI Muse, an algorithm-based AI entity created in collaboration with AI agency Birds on Mars, that allowed him to freely experiment with the expressive possibilities of painting. The software consists of various algorithms that learn how colour, composition, contrasts, and textures work in Lipski’s paintings. In the end, it spits out new works; painted in Lipski’s style, but not by the artist. Using these as inspiration, Lipski began painting new abstract works based on his oeuvre.
Lipski was one of only a handful of artists globally working with the technology in 2016 and his AI Muse represents a seminal work in the field of AI and art. In light of the current global conversation, we would like to revisit this hugely important archival work and consider a re:dux version. We look forward to open discussion on how the Muse can respond and/or adapt to new generation AI LLM technologies.

AI Regulations & Guidelines
AI presents many new possibilities for companies and organisations, but, as with any powerful but still experimental technology, there are also a range of risks in using it. Some of those risks are clear and specific, such as creating false information. Others are much harder to define, and seemingly fantastical, for example many leading experts in the AI sector genuinely worry that AI will become so intelligent that it will present a threat to humanity. Many leading AI developers have themselves voiced serious concerns about the potential dangers of uncontrolled AI systems, and we have recently seen the first steps by governments towards regulating AI systems. But where does that leave companies and organisations? How can they make sure they can use AI safely and responsibly?
