Join forces to further develop and improve some of the most promising digital solutions to build a healthier, resilient and caring European society and win the opportunity to accelerate your project with N3XTCODER. We support everyone who wants to explore health & social innovation and solidarity in Europe! By including patients in our hackathon teams we ensure that the ideas and projects are fit for real needs, and will lead to better collaboration and learning opportunities. We also aim to empower citizens to be more well informed, and create better trust in systems.

The Mission

During the Hackathon you will further build concrete products and services into tangible solutions in small interdisciplinary teams. We focus on these problem statements:

1. How can we support resilient healthcare systems which integrate and build upon the contribution of empowered citizens & patients?

• How to improve monitoring of healthcare information?
• How to strengthen healthcare value chains & supply chains?
• What can be done to prepare societies to face health emergencies?
• What can be done to ensure continuity of care in times of health emergencies?

2. How do we empower well informed citizens?

• Learning how to include patients & the public in scientific research & innovation
• How to collect & disseminate official/scientific information (Prevent and detect fake news)

3. A good outcome on the day would be concrete solutions to one or more of the problem statements as mentioned above. This includes but is not limited to:

• Innovative healthcare solutions
• Digital prototypes and landing pages
• Other prototypes and even concepts of non-digital and digital solutions

Joining the Hackathon

This Hackathon is for you if:

• You are an individual with the ambition, skills and expertise to bring such a solution / concept into reality!
• You are a project Owner / Team with a solution / concept that is not older than 6 months and can answer one of the missions described.
• Or you want to support as a facilitator

Either way you become part of an interdisciplinary team bringing together innovators, citizens & patients that aims to tackle one of the above mentioned problems.

Don’t forget: The possibilities do not end after the Hackathon – we are making plans for an extended pilot phase through incubation with N3XTCODER, EIT Health, and other partners. The winning team of this hackathon receives a prize that includes hands on N3XTCODER support to bring your solution to reality. This Hackathon could be the first step towards a new venture that aims to build a more resilient future.

Process

During the hackathon you get the opportunity to apply your skills to new and innovative solutions. You will be surrounded by experts, mentors and EIT Health partners. You will get a better understanding how technology innovation can lead to more resilient societies. Learn from citizens & patients, social entrepreneurs and EIT Health Alumni how they identify “hot spots” within the current system and how you can help to develop improvements for society. Broaden your network and learn from other social entrepreneurs how easy it can be to become a changemaker.

You don't need to prepare, however we encourage you to inform yourself about the status quo of these topics by participating in our N3XTCODER meetup series.
