Vostel
About Vostel
The volunteering platform vostel.de matches people that want to get involved as volunteers with non-profit organisations that need support. In addition to the placement of private individuals, they also plan and implement corporate volunteering programs for companies and support employees finding suitable volunteering opportunities.

Design / Tech challenge
Goal
The goal of the challenge is to develop an administration user interface containing a Google Map that can display vostel’s volunteering opportunities from provided dummy data.
Description
We don't have a map included yet on our website where users can see volunteering opportunities in their area at first sight, zoom in, zoom out and so on. To be able to scale vostel.de and to make the search for volunteering opportunities in the direct neighbourhood of our users easier, we would like to include a map. The hackathon solution should be based on Google maps and JavaScript, React is optional.
Business challenge
Goal
The goal is to develop a collaboration plan between corporates (e.g. Porsche) and vostel, to design a corporate volunteering program in recognition of the different stakeholders and their needs.
Description
To be able to introduce a corporate volunteering program at corporates like Porsche, the hackathon team should identify how different stakeholders play a role, which elements (individual volunteering, teamevents, working hours/free time) need to be considered and what are the wishes of employees. The role of vostel, as an intermediary, needs to be defined and a well thought out collaboration plan should formulate a foundation to potentially kick off a volunteering program.
