Meet David Lais, Founder of Ecolytiq.

David is a social entrepreneur and the founder of several innovative start-ups in the field of payments. He started his first company at the age of 16 and, by chance, switched to the payments industry. After a life-changing event in 2015, David decided to shift his focus and apply his knowledge to sustainable and social technologies. A few months later, he launched his latest project, the Organization for Sustainable Consumption. David believes that consumers need to know their environmental impact to reduce it in the long run. Technology is not an end in itself, but when used correctly, it is an unbeatable tool. "We need to start using data for positive societal change, not just for profit."

Meet Björn Lampe, CEO of Betterplace.

Björn is the CEO of betterplace.org, Germany's largest donation platform. For the last ten years, his ambition has been to engage more people into doing good. Before Betterplace, he worked for several other NGOs, e.g., the Make Poverty History and the Jubilee Debt Campaign.

betterplace.org was founded in 2007, and since then, more than 100 million EUR has been donated to thousands of NGOs, making it the largest donation platform in Germany. The organisation also works with hundreds of companies to enable them to digitize their CSR efforts. The platform is based in Berlin and currently employs more than 35 people.

Meet Martin Granig, Co-Founder and CEO of Monkee.

Before Martin started to work on the Monkee, he had worked for 15 years in several different senior management positions in the area of Product Management, Marketing, and Innovation Management in the B2C and B2B industry. Today, he is responsible for driving customer growth and spreading the word of how Monkee can help people improve their financial fitness and build more financial puffers for their future.

Meet Kirsten Hillebrand, Co-Founder of KlimaKarl.

Kirsten is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the chair for FinTech at the University of Bremen. Her research focuses on data privacy issues in the context of Data4Good. With a major in Corporate Development & Innovation, Kirsten received her M.Sc. degree in Business Administration from the Dresden University of Technology. During her studies, she gained valuable work experience in marketing, controlling, business development, and international product management.

Her app, KlimaKarl, brings climate protection into the office: Teams of employees compete eight weeks against each other in everyday office-life to save CO2. By completing green tasks, the participants receive points that protect the climate and unlock various incentives such as green donations or team events. The competition runs via the KlimaKarl app. In the app, participants communicate with chatbot KlimaKarl, who documents tasks, distributes points, provides information on sustainability, and announces results.

Meet Zahra Husain, Director for Business Development at Arabesque.

Zahra is a Director at Arabesque and is responsible for Business Development for the S-Ray® business division. Before joining Arabesque, she worked in Leveraged Finance for over 12 years at Commerzbank, Nomura, and Merrill Lynch. Zahra graduated from the London School of Economics and holds an MSc in Economics for Development from Oxford University. Zahra was also recognised as Management Today’s 35 women under 35 (2018) due to her contribution to the sustainable finance movement via her social enterprise, Humans in Finance.

Meet Lesley Li, CEO and Founder of Ü Impact.

Lesley is the CEO and founder of Ü Impact. Prior she has worked for leading investment banks such as JP Morgan and Barclays in London for over ten years. She graduated with two Masters in Finance and Industrial Management from the University of Cambridge.

Ü Impact is a FinTech startups with the mission to make impact investing the new normal. Ü Impact aims to guide young people to invest consciously and for the causes that matter the most to them. Intending to generate wealth and create positive impacts for society, Ü Impact focuses on themes targeted on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and impact funds to allow investments based on personal values ​​and beliefs.

Meet Mathias Born, CEO and Co-Founder of Payactive.

Mathias is an expert for payment and digital innovations and has been working in the financial industry for several years. Mathias has further been advising corporates, banks, FinTechs, and startups in the implementation process of their payment and innovation strategy. He worked for ING in Germany and Austria for more than eight years and completed his studies as business information scientist. As a trained software developer, he also developed various front and back-office systems and was responsible for the introduction and support of paydirekt at ING Germany.

With payactive, he founded a European payment platform focusing on entirely positive brand experience by bringing payment transactions for companies secured to the next stage of evolution and thereby financing the world of tomorrow. This includes automated invoice payments, direct debit and late payment management.

Meet Naomi Jaguttis, Co-Founder of Bill.Less.

Naomi holds a degree in Business Administration and has worked as a management consultant and in the sales area before co-founding Bill.Less. At Bill.Less she takes care that operations run smoothly.

Driven by an ambitious mindset, Katrin, Naomi, and Simon launched Bill.Less, a paperless receipt app, to help digitise and synchronise sales receipts to prevent further avoidable deforestation and boost consumer experience. Due to Germany’s regulatory requirements, receipts must still be issued, even though 8 out of 10 receipts are thrown out or lose the two-year warranty period depending on their condition. Until a new regulation is in place Bill.Less organizes receipts and reminds about expiring warranty claims and saves all tax-relevant receipts.

Moderation by Leonhard Nima is a serial social entrepreneur, Co-Founder of N3XTCODER, and former Adjunct Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at Hult International Business School in San Francisco and London. He previously worked for Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus at The Grameen Creative Lab as Head of Academia.
