About the Programme

AI for Impact is a free, hands-on 6-weeks programme that brings together tech experts, public institutions, and civil society to explore how AI can solve critical challenges. From climate action to democracy, inclusion, health and education, we offer a space for young professionals and students to develop AI skills while co-creating pilot solutions with real impact.

Our second programme edition takes innovation a step further, turning prototypes into practical AI solutions. Join a movement where technology meets purpose—let’s build a better future with AI!

How the programme works

Applications Submission & Volunteer Matching

Sign up as a project owner or volunteer, get matched with a team, and start your impact AI journey. Volunteers can join via our platform and choose projects they’re most interested in.

March - May 2025

Programme: Developing AI prototypes and MVPs

Refine your project in 6 weeks with expert support from Microsoft, Capgemini Germany, and our ecosystem. Join sprints, webinars, and mentoring to develop your proof-of-concept. Commit 6-10 hours weekly. Top teams will be invited to present their prototypes at re:publica.

Present your proof-of-concept at re:publica in Berlin to an international audience, with opportunities to collaborate with key partners.

Challenge: Online counseling is effective but very manual causing delays in matters that needs direct support with children and teenagers.

Goal: Develop an AI-powered chatbot that will reduce waiting times, streamline access to information, and free up experts for complex cases.

Open for: AI/ML Engineers, Backend & Frontend Developers, UI/UX/Service Designers, Solution Architects, Innovators passionate about family well-being, AI, and ethical technology.

Challenge: The construction industry drives 40% of global CO₂ emissions and generates over 30% of waste.

Goal: Create an AI-enabled MVP that streamlines the assessment of circular materials in building components, promoting sustainable architecture and reducing environmental impact.
